Erving and Michelle grew up knowing of each other because of the close friendship between both of their families. One fateful day, Erving had gone to visit his parents for the weekend and had gone to workout. When he had finished working out and walked into his parents’ home, he found Michelle and her family visiting his parents. It had been many years since they last saw each other and Erving could not believe how beautiful Michelle was and how he needed to get out of his raggedy clothes and shower to impress her. But he wasn’t the only one who was having sparks fly. As later confessed, when Erving walked in Michelle’s initial thoughts were how attractive he had become. As Erving quickly showered and changed into something presentable, he wondered what he could wear that would catch Michelle’s eyes. Let’s just say he chose correctly. It was becoming evident to each other that there was something brewing.

Weeks passed and Erving kept dwelling on the encounter he had with Michelle. With the help of his mom, Erving got Michelle’s number and started texting her. Throughout the next few weeks they got to know each other more and a date was set up. One date led to another date at an escape room where Erving made the decision to ask Michelle to be his girlfriend. Months go by and it is obvious by everyone around them that the two were in love with each other. Fast forward to a date night at the same escape room, the couple did a "Save Christmas" theme filled with riddles and puzzles to solve. As the game neared the end, Michelle was presented with one last riddle to save Christmas. The riddle read “to save Christmas you must answer this last question, will you marry me?” Where Erving was waiting behind her on one knee. To which she said yes! And this was the start of a commitment to one another for the rest of their lives.
